THIAGO FOTO.jpg

Thiago Leite Knitell
PhD student

He holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences - Medical Modality from the Federal University of São Paulo (2016). He is a PhD student in the Genetics and Molecular Biology program at the Institute of Biology at UNICAMP. He works with the organism C. elegans looking for proteins that influence aging by acting on a different tissue from where they were produced. The search is focused on genes that are conserved in humans and is aimed at developing drugs that lead to a healthier aging. Also in C. elegans, he studies how the health of the mothers can affect their children and later generations.
